Like other famous custom ROMs, AOKP is much stable and well built than other custom ROMs out there. This is a very light ROM, unlike heavily themed stock official ROMs by Sony Ericsson. It puts much less strain on your hardware and let you do more with little power consumption. Requirements:

  • You must have unlocked the bootloader of your smartphone

How to unlock bootloader of any Xperia Device Officially

If you ever want to relock your bootloader in future and revert all the settings to factory state, then you will need to backup TA partition. TA partition contains DRM keys, Bravia Engine functionality and your warranty papers verification. If you do not backup TA partition before unlocking bootloader, then you will never be able to revert back to factory state. Even if you do not want to relock bootloader ever, we still advise you to backup TA partition for future use. Visit the following link for a detailed guide on backing up TA partition on Xperia devices.

How to backup TA partition in Xperia devices

Xperia Arc LT15i owner must read this carefully. In order for you to be able to install this custom ROM on your smartphone successfully, you must install LT18i firmware on it first. It will make your phone ready to be flashed with this custom ROM. If yo do not do this, this custom ROM may not work on your smartphone. To do so, Visit this thread for detailed guide.

Another very important thing that you must keep in mind is that your phone must be on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich official firmware. If you try this with Gingerbread firmware, you might be quite disappointed with the outcome. You can update your smartphone easily with Sony PC Companion or flashtool. There is OTA update for your device for sure, so the easy way might be to install it with PC Companion. You can get it here.

Don’t install this ROM on LT18i! It useless, slow, apps crashes all the time. Try one from the link with UltraKat Custom ROM. I have a good experience with it.

        • http://techglen.com/ Hayder Ameen

    • http://techglen.com/ Hayder Ameen

      For which Apk?

      • Marcelo Da Fonseca Guilherme

Google Play Store, and the option Unknown sources its checked. And the correct error for the APK file installations is: “Can’t install file”
